The 3 Rules About Back Pain

The First Rule
The First Rule
#1: Don't be passive about your back or neck condition. There's ONE of you & that matters.* Be an active participant in your own health!
You get one back, one spine, one original disc between vertebral bones. However, there are so many options to choose when it comes to healing spinal pain. Medicine will mask your symptom much like a child closing her eyes to fear. Pain is sure to return if you ignore or try to wait out the problem. Finding real help sooner is crucial to healing. The best time to get help is before the condition gets worse! You are the ONE true doctor. Your healing response matters, and you are the ONE that matters to us the most. The proper healing response of your body can only be professionally managed by you taking action for yourself. Drugs are passive, not active! People want to stay Active, not Passive about their health. If you take a muscle relaxer, is your heart not a muscle as well? If you take an anti-inflammatory, are the blood vessels of your kidneys not targeted as well? Drugs do not target your problem, they affect the whole body. What price will your ONE body pay in the long run? It's SickCare not HealthCare! This has been the primary medical treatment approach for decades and often still is!

#2. The Second Rule of Back Pain

The Second Rule
#2: Understand Spinal Hygiene. Get an evaluation for spinal hygiene by a Chiropractor. They will be able to make corrective adjustments and provide tips for a healthier spine.
"Poor posture, loss of flexibility, decreased muscular strength, stress, poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, dehydration, & trauma lead to poor spinal hygiene. *This is the cause of back pain." - Steven M. Schultz, DC, RYT

Schultz's Law of Spinal Hygiene
" Osteoarthritis & Subluxation are to ==> Chiropractic
as
Tooth Decay & Dental Misalignment are to ==> Dentistry "
Steven M.Schultz, DC, RYT
US dentist Dr Evetta Shwartzman stated the body is a complex and when one part is out of alignment, this can have a detrimental impact in other areas. As a result, a misaligned bite could lead to symptoms including headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, jaw discomfort and more, although straightening the teeth could improve overall health. She commented: “Just by doing this, we restore the balance of our musculoskeletal system and relieve symptoms we didn’t even know stemmed from this imbalance.”

These above factors of poor spinal hygiene lead to osteoarthritic changes and segmental dysfunction of the spine. These changes can cause the vertebrae of the spine to move out of alignment. Even subtle misalignment can result in a cascade of symptoms referred to as "subluxations". Telltale signs of osteoarthritis and possible subluxation may include: back pain, neck pain, headaches, muscle spasms, restricted motion, and nerve disorders. The pain from subluxation and osteoarthritis can be: gradual, from poor spinal hygiene or sudden, from exposure to excessive force by way of accident or injury.
"The pain from subluxation and osteoarthritis can be: gradual - from poor spinal hygiene or sudden - from exposure to excessive force by way of accident or injury."
Forces of injury will actually find their way to biomechanical weakspots of the spine where joint dysfunction is already occurring. The most likely areas for osteoarthritis and subluxation are at vertebral levels C5-7 in the neck & L5/S1 in the lower back.

Most spinal pain comes from adaptive changes of the spine. These changes are called osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis comes from very common choices that lead to poor spinal hygiene, its not a disease! These spinal changes create a gradual onset of pain with possible subluxation. These problems becomes amplified suddenly when the body is exposed to traumatic forces of injury. A chiropractor is highly trained to help you.
