Dr. Susan Howell Solomon

Dr. Susan Howell Solomon
Susan Howell Solomon, DC has been practicing as a wellness physician for ten years in Charleston. She is a partner of Howell & Schultz Wellness Center and contributing advisor for www.123back.info. She took an interest in the human body at a very young age, and believed medical school would be in her future. It wasn't until college that exposure to a chiropractic lifestyle trumped any interest she had in pursuing a career in medicine. She has said that the chiropractic paradigm just "made sense" to her, understanding that the body is a self healing organism. Dr. Susan has a keen interest in helping women with hormonal balancing and experiencing life at its optimal level. Like Dr. Steve, she was trained in Pilates by Larry Nachman: Author of, "21st Century Health", and former student of Romana Kryzanowska, successor to Joseph Pilates, 8th St. Studio, N.Y.C. She believes that food choices and movement are the cornerstones of maintaining a balanced life. She is a loyal devotee of Hatha yoga, and she gets her spine checked regularly.
Dr. Steven M. Schultz

Dr. Steven Schultz
Dr. Steve Schultz has been practicing as a wellness physician for ten years in Charleston; and is the founder of 123back.info. He began his search for holistic knowledge while working as a medical scientist at the U.S.F. College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. It was there, a debilitating back injury led to a different path of healthcare after modern medicine couldn't help. His enthusiastic curiosity from a healthy recovery guided him with honors through professional school. Steve was trained in Pilates by Larry Nachman: Author of, "21st Century Health", and former student of Romana Kryzanowska, successor to Joseph Pilates, 8th St. Studio, N.Y.C. He later became a regular student at Holy Cow Yoga in 2008 and then completed the 200-Hour Teacher Training in May, 2009. He began teaching community yoga at Holy Cow in 2010. His professional opinion is that, "yoga is the best activity to improve spinal strength and flexibility." Steve enjoys Tai Chi, indoor bouldering and guitar, when he is not on the mat at Holy Cow.

Back Info
It is Our Professional Opinion That: - Poor spinal hygiene and back pain are mostly the result of poor choices and a lack of a publicly educated awarenessabout the severity of this problem.
- The public consumer has been kept in the dark about the fact that spinal pain is mostly preventable or better managed via chiropractic, massage therapy, stress reduction, flexibility training as with yoga, and other holistic methodswhich may not be limited to acupuncture.
- Accidental trauma may cause terrible spinal pain, instant subluxation, and subsequent osteoarthritis, but in general, we have been too focused as a society, and as health professionals on car accidents, lifting injuries, and events that lead to "pinched nerves". These end-stage traumatic events are often only catalysts to underlying adaptive spinal change. Injury events serve as an excuse for a much bigger problem to public health! We have missed the simple more preventable factors that lead to back & neck pain in the 20th Century. An emphasis on spinal hygiene should be foremost to solidify the profession of Chiropractic at the forefront of public health with regard to spinal health.
"The public consumer has been kept in the dark about the fact that spinal pain is mostly preventable..." -S.M. Schultz DC, RYT"A Chiropractic Physician is the only doctor trained to evaluate spinal hygiene for subluxations or osteoarthritis; then use: spinal corrective techniques, therapeutic treatments, wellness lifestyle strategies, or referrals to medical specialists to help you."
